Fatal Shooting at New Jersey Chick-fil-A Leaves One Dead and Six Wounded

Shooting Details Masked men barged into the Chick-fil-A in Union Township, New Jersey, and opened fire just before 9 p.

m. on Saturday. The shooting occurred at the franchise's location on Route 22. One person was killed, and six others were wounded. Law enforcement sources stated the shooting is believed to be gang-related, with the slain person likely the target.

Dashcam footage showed one masked gunman sprinting away from the eatery. The footage also showed several frightened customers running for their lives. The shooting marked the 100th mass shooting in the US so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Investigation and Response No arrests have been made as of Monday.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the violence. The restaurant remained closed on Monday morning. A small memorial including several bunches of flowers and a votive candle was placed outside the front door.

The door had a sign announcing the temporary closure and thanking customers for their patience.
