Father and daughter sail 18,000 nautical miles from Australia toward Norway

The pair left New South Wales in March 2025 bound for Norway. They have stopped in Darwin, Bali, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, Cape Town, St Helena, the Azores, and Penzance, Cornwall.
Health challenge during voyage The father learned he had prostate cancer upon reaching Cape Town. He returned to Australia for robotic surgery, received medical clearance, and rejoined the boat in time to catch the weather window to St Helena. The two have maintained separate bunks and personal routines to preserve their relationship during long passages.
Encounters at sea During one fishing attempt a tiger shark took half of a yellowfin tuna caught on their line. The remaining portion supplied meals for a week. The daughter has passed time crocheting, watching movies, and visiting friends during port stops.
She described the Indian Ocean crossing as 24 days of rough seas followed by a stop in Madagascar. The father and daughter plan to sail from Penzance to Falmouth, where the mother will join them for the father's 60th birthday. They will then continue to the Netherlands and Norway.
