FBI Assisting Michigan Police in Investigation of Newborn Found Dead at Electric Forest Festival
The FBI’s Detroit Field Office began assisting Michigan State Police this week in the death of a newborn found in a portable toilet at the Electric Forest music festival. Authorities announced a reward of up to $15,000 on Monday for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

com reported. Agents from the FBI’s Detroit Field Office began assisting this week, the agencies announced Monday. The infant’s body was discovered on June 28, 2025, by an employee of the restroom vending company conducting routine maintenance in a camping area at Double JJ Ranch.
The festival was in its final day when the body was found. Preliminary autopsy findings indicate the newborn was viable and born alive, and investigators classified the infant as a neonate, meaning no more than 28 days old. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
Pat Agema said investigators believe the case can be solved through forensic evidence. “We believe that there are definitely people who know something about it,” Agema said. ” He noted that roughly 50,000 people attended the four-day festival and another 12,000 worked it.
Michigan State Police cleared a woman from the Muskegon area as a suspect last week after she was identified through a tip and ruled out following an interview. Agema said the case remains a top priority for state police, with multiple people working on it daily.
