FBI Executes Search Warrants at Ohio Organizing Collaborative Headquarters

FBI agents executed search warrants at the headquarters of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative on June 11, 2026, and conducted interviews with members of the organization across Ohio. Some agents served subpoenas or sought to seize electronic devices during the operation. Multiple sources familiar with the matter told CBS News that the federal action was tied to a fraud-related investigation.

The Department of Justice declined to discuss the specifics of the case. A DOJ official told Fox News Digital that search warrants are authorized by a judge and that statements by any organization or media outlet amount to unfounded speculation because the target of an investigation is not privy to the search warrant affidavit until after indictment.

The Ohio Organizing Collaborative is a nonprofit group involved in voter registration and voter mobilization efforts.

It works closely with Democrats in Ohio and has played a prominent role in statewide ballot campaigns and referendum efforts. Tax records show the organization reported more than $10 million in revenue during 2024. 9 million to the Ohio Organizing Collaborative between 2019 and 2020.

The Open Society Action Fund contributed an additional $1 million to a related organization in 2021 and another $1 million in 2023. In 2023 the group spent $250,000 opposing a Republican-backed effort related to abortion policy. In 2024 it spent $300,000 opposing a Republican redistricting proposal.

In 2017 a paid canvasser working with the Ohio Organizing Collaborative pleaded guilty in connection with a fraudulent voter registration operation. OOC board member Prentiss Haney told MS Now that the timing of the action during a contested political election was intended to distract and intimidate civil rights leaders, voters, and community leaders helping people register to vote.
