U.S. law enforcement arrested him in Monterrey, Mexico, on January 30, 2025. The FBI Chicago office said in a statement posted on X that its personnel had successfully brought back the fugitive.
At the time of his arrest, Jimenez ranked as the fourth-most wanted person on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. Jimenez had been on the run for more than a decade before the Monterrey arrest. He faces charges in the May 12, 2012, killing of his wife, Estrella Carrera, in Illinois.
Estrella Carrera was last seen on surveillance footage recorded on May 11, 2012. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the killing. ” Authorities have not announced a date for Jimenez’s first court appearance.
