Justice Department officials arrested two additional suspects Monday in an alleged conspiracy to attack a June 14 UFC event. Seven people have now been charged in the case involving 23 individuals.
Fox NewsFederal authorities arrested two additional suspects Monday in connection with an alleged plot to attack the June 14 UFC event, the Justice Department said. Jordan Rincker, 28, of St. Joseph, Mo., appeared in federal court in Kansas City, while William Lee Spartacus Falkner appeared before a judge in Tacoma, Wash. Both men face one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
Prosecutors allege the group planned to use explosive-carrying drones to attack the north side of the event, forcing an evacuation to the south side where snipers would open fire on the crowd. Court documents state the grievances cited by the alleged conspirators included purported government corruption and involvement of U.S. lawyers with Israel.
Authorities learned of the plot after the parents of Tycen Proper, 19, alerted police to their son's purchase of weapons and online activities. Proper was among five suspects arrested last week.
Falkner was arrested Friday and Rincker was taken into custody Sunday. " Rincker allegedly met another charged suspect two days before the event, accepted $1,200 in cash, and sent $100 via payment app to help cover travel costs for a third suspect. He also allegedly gave a 12-gauge shotgun to one of the earlier arrestees.
A search of Rincker's residence and storage unit turned up a gas mask, night-vision goggles, ballistic plates, a 3D printer and additional weapons-related items, according to court documents. A total of seven people have now been arrested in the case, which authorities say involved 23 individuals in the broader conspiracy. No attack occurred at the event.
