FERC Grants Constellation Energy Waiver to Shift 760 MW Capacity Rights from Eddystone to Crane Nuclear Plant
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted Constellation Energy a waiver from PJM Interconnection rules on June 1, 2026, allowing transfer of 760 MW of Capacity Interconnection Rights from the Eddystone plant to the Crane nuclear unit near Middletown, Pennsylvania.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved a waiver on June 1, 2026, that lets Constellation Energy move 760 MW of Capacity Interconnection Rights from its Eddystone power plant near Philadelphia to the Crane nuclear unit. The waiver exempts Constellation from PJM Interconnection rules that would otherwise block the transfer.
Constellation had asked the commission for the exemption because full deliverability status matters especially for the Crane unit.
The Crane nuclear power plant sits near Middletown, Pennsylvania. Constellation plans to restart the facility, which was formerly known as Three Mile Island Unit 1. The commission issued its decision on Monday.
Constellation submitted the waiver request to support restart work at the site. ZeroHedge reported the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission action and the details of the Capacity Interconnection Rights transfer.
