Few Polls Released Ahead of New York Democratic House Primaries
Few independent surveys have appeared ahead of Tuesday's Democratic primaries in three New York congressional districts. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani endorsed three candidates in the races.

Few independent surveys have been published for New York’s Democratic House primaries despite the presence of prominent candidates and ideological differences among them. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani endorsed Claire Valdez in the open-seat race for the 7th Congressional District, Darializa Avila Chevalier in the 13th District, and Brad Lander in the 10th District.
Primary voters head to the polls on Tuesday.
Valdez, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, faces Antonio Reynoso, who is backed by Rep. Nydia Velázquez. Avila Chevalier, also a DSA member, challenges five-term Rep. Adriano Espaillat.
Lander, a former DSA member, runs against Rep. Dan Goldman. Two of the three candidates endorsed by Mamdani are current DSA members. Espaillat holds endorsements from the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the Latino Victory Fund, and BOLD America.
Mamdani listened as President Donald Trump spoke in the Oval Office on November 21, 2025. Mamdani and Lander cross-endorsed each other during last year’s mayoral campaign.
