Showcases will cover every World Cup since 1930.
Two immersive experiences are planned: a video installation called “The Final” and “The Wall of Champions,” which lists every player who has lifted the trophy. The Jules Rimet trophy, awarded to champions from 1930 to 1970, will be on view. The original trophy was stolen from the Brazilian Football Confederation headquarters in Rio de Janeiro in 1983 and never recovered.
Infantino spoke at Monday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. “This exhibition tells the history of the game, but it also reminds us of the emotions we experience throughout our lives,” he said.
““I am sure this place will be filled with fans from all over the world from now until the end of the World Cup. They will come to immerse themselves in emotions, feelings, heartbeats, and ultimately in what we seek to achieve through the World Cup: Uniting the world.””
Former Italy players Roberto Baggio, Christian Vieri and Marco Materazzi joined a panel discussion. Vieri recalled playing alongside Baggio at the 1998 World Cup and said, “Dreams do come true.” Baggio advised young players to “follow your dreams. Do what you truly love.
