Video footage showed the engine traveling along the street before hitting the parked vehicles and flipping onto its side. The truck then slid into the front of the H&R Block building. Fire officials stated the engine was en route to a structure fire call when the traffic accident occurred. An LAFD captain told ABC 7 that the vehicle rolled over into the building.
Angeles police are investigating the cause of the crash. The LAFD has not released the names of the two injured firefighters. Several ambulances and additional fire engines responded to the scene. Employees at a nearby Panda Express evacuated the restaurant, and other businesses along Foothill Boulevard closed early.
Cleanup along Foothill Boulevard between McVine and Oro Vista avenues took several hours to complete.
