First Kyle Busch Invitational Set for August at Bowman Gray Stadium

The first Kyle Busch Invitational will be held August 21 at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The event will feature races with Legends cars and Bandoleros. All proceeds will go to The Samantha and Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy Fund, a nonprofit started by the family to help couples struggling with infertility.
Background on the event Kyle Busch died May 21 at age 41 from complications of sepsis. NASCAR announced last week that it will host a Celebration of Life for him on October 9 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Busch's 11-year-old son Brexton is racing Legend cars this summer at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Legend cars are five-eighths-scale replicas of 1930s vehicles powered by Yamaha motorcycle engines.
Track history and upgrades Bowman Gray Stadium opened in 1938 and has hosted NASCAR racing since 1958. NASCAR acquired the lease in March 2024 and manages events through 2050. The quarter-mile track seats about 17,000 spectators. Renovations completed since 2019 included track resurfacing, new lighting, catch fences, and a SAFER barrier.
Race details The invitational will include up to 51 Legend cars and 18 Bandoleros. Races will be broadcast live on FloSports and the NASCAR Channel. A vice president of U.S. Legend Cars International said the Legend Car played an important role in Busch's development and called participation in the event a tremendous honor.
