Five Republican senators have endorsed Rep. Julia Letlow in her June 27 runoff against Louisiana Treasurer John Fleming. The endorsements follow Letlow receiving nearly 45 percent of the vote on Saturday.
SemaforFive Republican senators have endorsed Rep. Julia Letlow in her Louisiana Senate runoff against Louisiana Treasurer John Fleming. The senators are Tim Sheehy of Montana, Katie Britt of Alabama, Jim Banks of Indiana, Bernie Moreno of Ohio, and Rick Scott of Florida.
They announced their support after Letlow received nearly 45 percent of the vote on Saturday.
The runoff election is scheduled for June 27.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise also endorsed Letlow this week. Before the Saturday vote, most Senate Republicans had declined to take sides in the race between Letlow, Fleming, and Sen. Bill Cassidy.
Her new endorsers said she would align with President Trump’s America First agenda. Britt, Moreno, and Banks are vice chairs at the Senate Republican campaign arm.
