Five-Star Edge Rusher Jaiden Bryant Flips Commitment from LSU to Miami

Five-star edge-rusher Jaiden Bryant flipped his commitment from LSU to the University of Miami on Wednesday. Bryant, the No. 4-ranked edge-rusher and the No. 28 overall recruit in the class of 2027 according to Rivals, is the third five-star commit in Miami’s 2027 class.

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal secured the commitment after Bryant visited the Coral Gables campus. Bryant told Rivals that the visit went great. “Some highlights from this weekend were spending time with some of the guys and some of the players already on the team.

I just had an all-around great time. I appreciated the way the coaches treated me and my family. I felt love here. I felt wanted,” he said. The flip follows LSU head coach Lane Kiffin’s recruitment of five-star transfer portal quarterback Sam Leavitt from Miami.

Bryant had previously pledged to LSU before changing his commitment after the Miami visit. Miami’s 2027 recruiting class now ranks third in the country according to Rivals. The class also includes five-star cornerback Donte Wright, who flipped from Georgia, and four-star cornerback Ai’King Hall, who flipped from Oregon.

Five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear is committed to the class. Additional commitments include four-star quarterback Israel Abrams, ranked the No. 2 quarterback and No.

Ranked the No. 6 linebacker and No. 96 nationally by Rivals. Hall is the No. 11-ranked cornerback and No. 74 nationally according to Rivals. The Hurricanes reached the national championship game last year.

Miami has also signed quarterback Darian Mensah and wide receiver Cooper Barkate.
