The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Alexandra Delacaridad Gonzalez, 46, a former bookkeeper at Avant-Garde Property Management in Stuart, Florida. Investigators allege that Gonzalez stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from homeowners association accounts she managed.
The thefts occurred over an extended period, according to the sheriff’s office announcement on Monday.
Authorities state that Gonzalez wrote checks to herself from the HOA accounts and concealed the transactions by creating fictitious invoices and false ledger entries. She also allegedly forged signatures of authorized account holders. The stolen funds were used for personal expenses, including shopping, plastic surgery, and lavish trips.
Gonzalez faces two counts of fraud exceeding $50,000, two counts of grand theft, 61 counts of uttering false instruments, and 59 counts of embezzlement.
