Fishback had announced in February that he was single again after a relationship that began in January. He had occasionally referred to that partner as his wife on the campaign trail.
Fishback had faced prior allegations from a former fiancée who sought a protective order in early 2025. A Florida judge denied the request and cleared Fishback of wrongdoing. Broward County School District and his former debate organization ended their ties with Fishback following the controversy.
