Fox NewsJean Jethro Alexandre, a Haitian national, was sentenced to just under 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a healthcare fraud conspiracy that submitted more than $58 million in false claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers. The scheme operated in Florida in 2025 and exploited the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program.
Alexandre and his co-conspirators recruited fake patients and paid them kickbacks to accept fraudulent prescriptions for HIV and AIDS medication written by nurse practitioners.
He used a nonprofit health clinic he secretly co-owned to purchase the drugs at discounted 340B rates, then had the prescriptions filled at pharmacies that reimbursed the clinic with payments from insurers. Alexandre was initially indicted in December 2025.
He purchased a 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a 2023 Bentley Flying Spur, a Mercedes-Benz G-Class AMG, and a six-passenger golf cart-style vehicle with proceeds from the scheme.
