A Florida judge has approved an agreement that lets prosecutors review hospital and pharmacy records connected to a March vehicle crash and arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. The order, signed last week by Judge Darren Steele in Martin County circuit court, covers records from Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital.
Prosecutors also received access to prescription medication records from a Palm Beach pharmacy covering January through March.
Both sides agreed to a protective order that restricts the records to prosecutors, law enforcement officers, state experts, and the defense team. The case remains in Martin County circuit court, north of Palm Beach County. The defendant has pleaded not guilty.
Court records show the individual agreed to a Breathalyzer test that detected no alcohol and later traveled outside the United States for inpatient treatment.
