A Florida judge sentenced Alicia Andrews, 23, to 15 years in prison for her role in the June 23, 2024 shooting death of rapper Julio Foolio. Judge Kimberly Fernandez imposed the maximum sentence after a jury convicted Andrews of manslaughter last year. Andrews was 21 and stood 5-foot-1 at the time of her arrest.

Andrews and her boyfriend Isaiah Chance tracked Foolio's movements during his trip to Tampa to celebrate his 26th birthday. They relayed his location to other co-conspirators who ambushed the rapper outside a hotel. Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones II, was killed and three others were wounded in the attack.

Andrews and Chance traveled from Jacksonville, the rapper's hometown, to follow him as part of a gang feud.

Defense attorney Jeremy McClymont asked the judge for a lighter sentence, describing Andrews' role as minor. He said the facts did not support a manslaughter conviction and noted plans to appeal. Foolio's mother, Sandrikas Mays, told the court that Andrews bore equal responsibility.

"Whether she pulled the trigger or not, my son would still be alive today if she had not participated in carrying out the plan," Mays said.

Four other defendants, including Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy, were convicted of first-degree murder earlier this month. They face mandatory life sentences at a hearing next month. Andrews was tried on second-degree murder charges but the jury returned a manslaughter verdict instead.
