Former F.B.I. officials have established the F.B.I. Support Network to provide legal, mental health and job-search services to current agency employees. The organization operates as an offshoot of the Justice Connection and is staffed by former agents, analysts and executives who say they understand bureau employment rules and work culture.

Background on the Network Founders stated that the work force is under strain following recent personnel actions at the agency. Michael Mason, a former senior executive, said there is an incredible amount of tension inside the agency right now.

Driscoll, who served briefly as acting director in early 2025 before being removed in August, appeared in a video announcing the group. Driscoll said it is time for those who served with the F.B.I. to offer assistance to special agents, intelligence analysts and professional staff.

Michael Feinberg, a former counterintelligence agent, said law enforcement and national security work should remain apolitical. Feinberg added that a wide gulf exists between public statements by the director and what employees observe happening to colleagues.
