Former Lions cornerback faces kidnapping and robbery charges while teams show interest

A former first-round cornerback is preparing for the 2026 NFL season while facing eight felony counts that could carry a life sentence if he is convicted. The player was arrested on four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery tied to a February incident in which three men were allegedly kidnapped and assaulted.

He remains under house arrest with exceptions for work and legal matters.

Legal proceedings His agent testified Friday at a pre-trial hearing in Florida that four teams have expressed interest. One team flew the player in for a workout this week, and he completed a physical with that team on Thursday. The agent also said two additional teams are scheduled to meet with the player next week.

The hearing concerned a request by Florida to place the player on an ankle monitor; a judge had previously declined that request in June, citing the player's employment status.

Next steps The agent stated in July that she expects the player to sign with a team within 30 days. The player is still awaiting the outcome of his legal case.
