A former chief executive of the Scottish National Party admitted using party funds to buy luxury goods, jewellery, cosmetics, two cars and a motorhome. The admission came on Monday when the official pleaded guilty to embezzling £400,000. The former first minister of Scotland spoke to the BBC in her first interview since the guilty plea.

She stated she is not responsible for the crimes committed by her former husband and will not apologise for them. She also said she felt she was serving a sentence for a crime she did not commit. The former first minister has consistently denied any knowledge of the financial misconduct.

The interview was conducted by Laura Kuenssberg and is available to watch in full on iPlayer.
