Will Forte Admits Insensitive Reaction to Wife's New Bangs Prompted Divorce Threat

Will Forte said his wife Olivia Modling threatened to divorce him after he reacted badly to her new haircut during a FaceTime call while he was away filming Season 2 of The Four Seasons. Forte, 55, appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday and recounted the exchange. He said Modling had never had bangs before since he has known her and that he did not know she was getting them.

“She picks up the FaceTime, and she has freshly cut bangs,” Forte said. ” He added that Modling was “hunched over a little bit” on camera and that the bangs reminded him of Spock from Star Trek rather than Brigitte Bardot. The call occurred right around Halloween.

Forte said he realized the bangs were not a wig and tried to make it seem like he thought they were beautiful. He was in the middle of rehearsal, so he said, “Oh! ” and ended the call. Forte said he was unable to contact Modling for half an hour after the call.

When he returned to his phone, he received several text messages from her. Meyers displayed the messages on air. One read: “Is that a wig? The. Worst. Possible. Thing. To. Hear. After. Cutting. ” Forte said he and Modling got past the incident.

The couple got engaged in 2019 shortly after they started dating and married in a secret ceremony in New Mexico in 2021. They are the parents of two daughters: Zoe, 5, and Cecilia, who was born in 2022.
