Fortune Magazine Publishes 2025 Most Powerful Women Ranking
The publication released its annual list ranking women executives by business size and performance. The 2025 edition used a new scoring system that favors chief executives over other C-suite roles.
americanbanker.comThe list uses a scoring system introduced in 2024 that gives additional weight to chief executive officers. As a result, some executives in non-CEO positions rank lower than in prior years.
One hundred women appear on the 2025 list.
Twenty are chief executives of Fortune 500 companies. Just over half work in the United States, while 48 are based in 19 other countries and territories. Sixteen executives are new to the list. The remaining 84 include both long-serving leaders and executives identified as rising within their organizations.
Rankings are determined by quantitative measures of company performance and profit-and-loss responsibility. The updated method reduces emphasis on titles other than chief executive. The full list and methodology details are available on the publication's website.
