The Four Corners program aired a segment on biohacking and anti-aging on Sunday, 19 July 2026. Hundreds of participants attended a biohacking conference in New York City where vendors promoted therapies including ozone treatments, hydrogen inhalations, red light therapy, vibration plates and free IV infusions.
Next Health operates a longevity and wellness centre in West Hollywood offering IV drips, full-body MRI, blood testing, whole-body red light therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cryotherapy and plasma exchange.
Founder Darshan Shah stated that most clients are fit and well and visit for regular infusions of vitamins and NAD+. He said his target market is everybody and that Next Health aims to make health span match life span. Abc identified approximately 100 Australian operators advertising IV drip clinics, recovery studios, biological age testing and telehealth appointments prescribing unapproved peptides.
Endocrinologist Professor Katherine Samaras stated that NAD+ boosters are a complete waste of money. Professor Luigi Fontana stated there are no data in humans supporting NAD+ for anti-aging. Retro Biosciences was launched with a $US180 million investment from Sam Altman and is valued at $US1.8 billion.
Chief executive Joe Betts-LaCroix stated the company aims to increase healthy human lifespan by 10 years. The firm is conducting a first-in-human safety trial of an Alzheimer's drug in Adelaide and licensed technology from the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne for bone marrow transplants. Intervene Immune is targeting the thymus gland to rejuvenate the immune system.
Chief scientist Greg Fahy stated that regrowing the thymus in older people will revolutionise the future of medicine and the future of aging. He ran a small trial using growth hormones and two other drugs that showed thymus recovery via MRI imaging. Professor Daniel Gray stated it is unclear whether thymus function causes better health outcomes.
