A Skoda Karoq and a Volkswagen Golf R were involved. The driver of the Skoda, a woman in her 60s, and two passengers, a boy and a girl, all suffered severe injuries and were taken to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Volkswagen Golf, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Beckett said the collision prompted a large emergency services response. He appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of either vehicle shortly before the crash to contact police.
