Framework Laptop 13 Pro First Shipments Delayed to July 2026
Framework pushed first-batch shipments of its Laptop 13 Pro from late June into late July, with some units at risk of early August delivery. Non-first-batch preorders moved from July to August, and some August batches could reach early September.
Framework has delayed first-batch shipments of the Laptop 13 Pro from late June 2026 into late July 2026, with some units at risk of early August delivery. The company informed customers who preordered the device via email on June 10, 2026. The main causes are an electrical grounding issue in the haptic trackpad and a bug found during production ramp of the custom display.
Framework worked with suppliers Lite-On and Boréas on the trackpad and with display supplier CSOT on the display. An electrical grounding issue in the haptic trackpad's circuit board design caused the trackpad to reset itself after repeated clicks. The haptic trackpad had gone through a dozen internal firmware releases before the issue was identified.
Framework determined that a new board design is required and is holding shipments until the new circuit board is used in all haptic trackpads. The new modules arrive from the supplier to Framework's final assembly factory in mid-July 2026. Framework found a bug during production ramp of the custom display that resulted in the panel not initializing on one unit.
The company is working with CSOT to produce new firmware, which is expected to be ready at the same time as the updated trackpad modules. Framework has started producing other sub-assemblies for the Laptop 13 Pro while waiting for the haptic trackpad modules. Mainboard preorders and orders that did not include the haptic trackpad or custom display components are shipping on time.
The new Intel Panther Lake mainboard is scheduled to ship in June 2026. Shipments of the new Framework Laptop 13 Pro Mainboard with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 begin in June 2026. Framework stated it does not anticipate the late manufacturing start to cause delays beyond August 2026.
