France Reaches World Cup Semi-Finals With 2-0 Win Over Morocco

France advanced to the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup after defeating Morocco 2-0 in Boston on Thursday. The two goals arrived in a six-minute spell during the second half. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring, followed by a goal from Ousmane Dembele.

France recorded 22 attempts on goal compared to Morocco's five.

Morocco's only shot on target came in the 83rd minute. Mbappe had a first-half penalty saved before scoring his eighth goal of the tournament. He is now level with Argentina's Lionel Messi as the competition's top scorer. Dembele now has five goals in the tournament. France became the second side in the past 50 years to have two players score five or more goals at the same World Cup.

France have scored 15 goals in the tournament, more than any other team. They have conceded only two goals across six matches. The squad includes attacking options from Bayern Munich, Paris St-Germain, Manchester City, and Crystal Palace.
