France to Replace Palantir Tools at DGSI With ChapsVision After 2025 Contract Renewal
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said the domestic intelligence service will switch providers to reduce reliance on foreign technology. The change follows a 2025 contract renewal and will take several years.
RapplerFrance’s domestic intelligence service will replace Palantir AI data tools with those from the French firm ChapsVision, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said. Lecornu posted on social media that France must use its own AI models and cannot accept new strategic dependencies in the digital sphere.
He added that the country cannot rely on tools developed by foreign powers and must have its own tools.
Lecornu’s office said the DGSI will make the switch, though the transition is likely to take several years because Palantir’s long-term contract was renewed in 2025. The prime minister stated that France must build real autonomy and not depend on partners who can turn off access to artificial intelligence. ChapsVision was founded in 2019 and reported €200m in revenue in 2025.
5bn in revenue in the same year. ChapsVision’s technology has also been selected by Germany’s BfV internal security service. On Tuesday, Lecornu said France plans to invest €655m in artificial intelligence.
The government will set up a shared chatbot for all state services and create a public health chatbot for the state-owned health insurance agency Ameli. 6 million civil servants. The system uses models from the French startup Mistral AI.
ChapsVision said it would become the technological foundation for many public agencies for their critical data processing needs. Palantir said it would continue to support the French government wherever its solutions are needed.
