They worked to pull victims from the wreckage and brought the fire under control. Siripong Angkasakulkiat told reporters that all eight fatalities were on the bus. The wounded were taken to various hospitals for treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
Videos shared on social media showed the train striking the bus and dragging other vehicles along the tracks. Wanthong Kokpho, a motorcycle taxi driver who witnessed the crash, said the bus and cars were blocked at the red light. He noted that the fire started immediately after the collision.
