French Firm Shows 6x6 Vehicle With 105mm Gun at Defense Show
Arquus unveiled the Fenris armored vehicle at the Eurosatory exposition. The 26-tonne vehicle carries a 105mm gun and was developed in roughly one year.
Breaking DefenseA French defense company presented a new six-wheeled armored vehicle equipped with a 105mm gun at a defense exposition in Paris. The vehicle, named Fenris, weighs 26 tonnes and can be fitted with the same 105mm gun currently used by Ukrainian forces. Company officials said the design responds to battlefield requirements observed during the conflict in Ukraine.
Officials stated that work on the vehicle began in July 2025 after determining no existing Arquus platform could mount the turret. The vehicle integrates protection against drones in its turret and meets NATO STANAG 4 protection standards. The gun can fire at a 40-degree elevation, extending its range from roughly 2 kilometers to about 11 kilometers.
Officials added that the system maintains a first-hit probability of 95 percent at 2,000 meters and is compatible with all NATO-standard ammunition.
The vehicle features active suspension that allows operators to adjust ride height and vehicle pitch. Officials said the system improves mobility over rough terrain and reduces the vehicle's visible profile for better concealment. Company representatives described the Fenris as a potential successor to the AMX-10 RC reconnaissance vehicle, which carried a 105mm gun and entered service more than 40 years ago.
They noted that its planned replacement carries only a 40mm weapon. The vehicle remains under testing. Officials said that if an urgent order were placed during the show, delivery could occur within 12 months; standard lead time is approximately 16 months.
