The request was filed at a courthouse near Paris. Bruel, 67, has released multiple top-selling albums and appeared in dozens of films.
He has denied any wrongdoing. He is the latest prominent French entertainer to face investigation following the #MeToo movement. Last year, film actor Gerard Depardieu received a suspended 18-month prison sentence after being convicted of sexually assaulting two women on a film set.
