Frontier Airlines will equip its planes with Starlink satellite internet beginning early next year. The low-cost carrier joins four partner airlines in the rollout, which will also provide gate-to-gate connectivity for crews.

The airline's global partners — Cebu Pacific, JetSMART, Volaris and Wizz Air — will offer the same Starlink service. Pricing and usage parameters remain to be announced.
One day before the announcement, Frontier's website stated that flights do not currently offer Wi-Fi, TV or electrical outlets as part of its strategy to keep fares low. The carrier has since reversed that position. Frontier CEO Jimmy Dempsey said the company is continuing to invest in products and services that matter most to customers.
He referenced recent additions of first-class seating and expanded loyalty perks. Frontier was one of the last major U.S. carriers without Wi-Fi. The five budget carriers in the latest agreement share a common investor, private equity firm Indigo Partners.
Budget airlines have faced pressure to add amenities as larger carriers generate revenue from premium cabins.
