Gatwick Express began operating two new early-morning train services between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport as part of a trial. uk reported. The changes form part of a package of passenger improvements introduced after Govia Thameslink Railway moved into public ownership in May.
Gatwick Express also launched fast-track airport security and discounted airport lounges for its customers. Louis Rambaud, GTR chief customer officer, said the enhancements support a wider strategy to drive growth to key airports on the network. Lord Peter Hendy, Rail Minister, said the additional services will make a real difference to people arriving late or traveling for early flights and will connect them straight to the capital.
Hendy added that contactless ticketing at every London airport forms part of efforts to build a railway that works for passengers.
