The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported that the confirmed death toll from Israeli military operations has reached 72,939, with 172,927 people injured since October 7, 2023. In its latest update, the ministry stated that hospitals across Gaza received one body and eight injured people over the most recent 24-hour reporting period.

Since a ceasefire took effect in October 2025, the ministry said Israeli attacks have killed 930 Palestinians and injured 2,819.

Israeli forces captured Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon, according to Israeli broadcaster Kan. The same report quoted Israeli officials stating they had instructed the military to expand operations and deepen control over areas previously held by Hezbollah.

French officials requested an emergency United Nations Security Council meeting following the seizure of the castle. The French foreign minister said the request was made because continued military operations in Lebanon could not be justified by self-defense claims.

A hospital in Deir el-Balah reported that the breakdown of a fourth generator has created an electricity crisis. The hospital said operating rooms have shut down and dialysis, neonatal, intensive care, and laboratory departments are at risk of closing. The hospital administration appealed for immediate intervention to restore stable power supply and install new generators.

Energy A University of Tehran professor told Al Jazeera that indirect talks between the United States and Iran remain far from agreement. The professor said U.S. demands for irreversible Iranian actions exceed what Washington can offer in return. Iran’s Pars Oil and Gas Company chief executive said three offshore platforms at the South Pars gasfield have resumed production after earlier halts caused by Israeli strikes on onshore facilities.

The platforms themselves were not damaged, and output is being routed to other processing plants while repairs continue.
