The startup, spun out of Medal, uses video game data to train AI models that control both virtual agents and physical robots. The round was led by Khosla Ventures.
markets.businessinsider.comGeneral Intuition raised $320 million on Thursday at a $2.3 billion valuation, TechCrunch reported. The round brings the company's total disclosed funding to $454 million, following a $134 million raise at its October 2025 launch. The round was led by Khosla Ventures with participation from General Catalyst, Jeff Bezos, Eric Schmidt, Nico Rosberg, and researchers at Google DeepMind and MIT.
Most of the proceeds will fund expanded compute capacity through a deal with CoreWeave, with additional funds set aside to broaden API access by the end of summer 2026. General Intuition was spun out of Medal, a platform that lets gamers upload and share video clips.
Hundreds of millions of hours of that footage, including embedded records of button presses and timing, formed the initial training set for the company's spatial-temporal reasoning model.
At its New York office, an AI agent built on the same model has played a Fortnite-like game continuously for 100 hours. The identical model also operates a large quadrupedal robot equipped with a single camera, whose default behavior is exploration. Eight minutes of street-collected robotics data were sufficient to fine-tune the robot's performance.
The company recently launched the Nerve platform, a marketplace that lets gamers earn money through data labeling and robot teleoperation tasks. Co-founder and CEO Pim de Witte said the company's policy bars use of its agents to harm humans. De Witte and co-founders Eloi Alonso, Adam Jelley, and Vincent Micheli have declined acquisition offers, including one from a major lab while the company was still part of Medal.
Vinod Khosla cited the proprietary action data from gameplay as the key factor in his firm's decision to lead the round.
