” Collins said the party should continue President Trump’s “America First” agenda. President Trump has not endorsed either candidate. The winner will face Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in November.
Kemp is supporting former college football coach Derek Dooley in the race to succeed him. Kemp’s PAC has spent millions on Dooley’s behalf. Gov. Burt Jones for the Republican nomination. Jones faces a challenge from businessman Rick Jackson, who has also appealed to Trump supporters.
Democratic candidates for governor have focused their campaigns on opposition to President Trump’s policies. Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, endorsed by former President Joe Biden, is considered the frontrunner in the Democratic primary.
