Ghana has rolled out a new electronic visa system designed to simplify entry for visitors and encourage tourism and business travel. The government also announced that visa fees will no longer apply to business travelers from other African countries, effective on Africa Day.
The e-visa platform allows applicants to complete the process online before arrival. Officials said the fee waiver applies specifically to business purposes and does not extend to tourism or other categories at this stage.
The announcement coincides with ongoing health concerns in neighboring countries.
In a separate development, Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye appointed economist Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô as the country’s new prime minister.
