com reported. The decline follows an incident in which four players modified team-provided Pride hats during the franchise's Pride Night event. In the seven most recent home games, attendance ran between 8% and 11% below comparable stands from the 2025 season at matching times and days of the week.
Sam Hentges wore his standard Giants cap without the rainbow patch. Landon Roupp, JT Brubaker, and Ryan Walker wore the Pride hat but added Bible verses beside the rainbow logo. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred stated that the Giants should have made clear players could opt out of wearing the Pride hats.
Giants President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey offered limited comment when asked directly about the June 12 incident. The Giants currently stand at 42-58 yet continue to rank among the league's stronger attendance figures.
