Giants Sign Braxton Berrios After Monday Workout, Pass on Odell Beckham Jr. for Now
The Giants signed Braxton Berrios on Monday after a workout that also included Odell Beckham Jr. and JuJu Smith-Schuster. The move followed the season-ending injury to another receiver and left open the possibility of further additions.
nypost.comThe Giants signed Braxton Berrios to a contract on Monday morning after a workout that featured four free-agent wide receivers. The team had been short at the position after Gunner Olszewski suffered a season-ending torn right Achilles tendon last Friday. Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton were also recovering from recent surgeries and had not yet returned to practice.
The workout took place Monday morning and included Odell Beckham Jr., JuJu Smith-Schuster, Braxton Berrios and Anthony Miller. Physical examinations followed the on-field session. Berrios, 30, has recorded 100 career punt returns averaging 11.3 yards and 91 career kickoff returns averaging 24.9 yards over seven NFL seasons.
The Giants entered the week with nine healthy receivers, a number insufficient for organized team activity practices and the upcoming mandatory minicamp. Berrios played four games last season and has appeared in only 10 games over the past two seasons after tearing his ACL in 2024.
Beckham, the Giants’ 2014 first-round pick, did not play in the NFL in 2025 after a six-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing-drug policy.
““It’s a place I never wanted to leave. And it’s just a special place in my heart, just to see all of these Big Blue jerseys — just hoping for the best.””
The team is expected to continue evaluating veteran options in the coming days.
