Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts announces birth of first child

BBC NewsGirls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts announced the birth of her first child in an Instagram post. The 40-year-old said her daughter arrived healthy and content at 38 weeks and is thriving. Roberts added that becoming a mother is "heaven on earth" and that she and partner Mitch Hahn can hardly believe the baby is theirs.
Photos posted to the account show Roberts holding the infant and Hahn carrying the baby in a car seat. Fellow celebrities including singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, presenters AJ Odudu and Katie Piper, and actress Michelle Keegan posted congratulations in the comments.
The group reunited for a UK and Ireland arena tour in 2024, their first in more than 11 years. The shows were dedicated to former member Sarah Harding, who died of cancer in 2021 at age 39. The band formed on the 2002 ITV show Popstars: The Rivals, released five studio albums, and won a BRIT award in 2009.
Roberts has also released solo music and appeared in West End musicals, including the 2025 production of Hadestown.
