Goalhanger Ventures also formed a partnership with Backyard Cricket, a sports creator brand.
Under the agreement, Goalhanger will supply funding and strategic support across production, longer-form video, commercial partnerships, sponsorship, and merchandise.
Media produces videos that examine markets, money, global power, and national economies. It is developing a new format called The Invisible Game focused on the economics of everyday decisions. Goalhanger co-founder Jack Davenport said the ventures arm aims to give creator-led businesses infrastructure while preserving editorial independence and audience trust.
Goalhanger produces the Rest is... podcast series covering history, politics, and football. The company plans to launch its first daily Netflix show, Rest is Football, during the World Cup. The Chernin Group took a minority stake and a board seat at Goalhanger several months earlier.
