The Vegas Golden Knights agreed to a seven-year contract with defenseman Rasmus Andersson on Wednesday. The deal carries an $8.5 million salary cap hit. Andersson, 29, joined the Golden Knights near last season's trade deadline after ten seasons with the Calgary Flames. In 33 regular-season games with Vegas, he recorded seven goals and 17 points while averaging 23:12 of ice time per game.
Playoff performance In the postseason, Andersson posted six assists over 22 games. The Golden Knights swept the Colorado Avalanche to win the Western Conference title before losing to the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Final. Andersson was originally selected by the Flames in the second round of the 2015 NHL draft. Over his career he has averaged 21:49 minutes of ice time per game.
