Golfer holds ice cream cone mid-round at Evian Championship

Charley Hull held an ice cream cone on the course during the second round of the Evian Championship at Evian Resort Golf Club on July 10, 2026. Hull opened the round with two bogeys in her first six holes. She then played her final 12 holes in 7-under par and moved into third place, three strokes behind leader Aki Iwai at 8 under.

Ice cream incident Hull told reporters she did not eat the ice cream.

She said her boyfriend had purchased it for her caddie and that she held it briefly while the caddie placed a club in her bag. Hull said she eats during tournaments but follows a different plan. She stated she eats on the third, fifth, and seventh holes and then on every hole after that, typically consuming bars and bananas.

Recent form and context Hull is competing in her 11th event of the season.

She withdrew from last year’s Evian Championship because of illness. Earlier this season she finished in the top 10 at the Chevron and second at the U.S. Women’s Open before missing the cut at the Women’s PGA. Hull said she believed in herself, relaxed, and took advantage of birdie opportunities after the slow start. She described the event as feeling like a holiday.
