koreaherald.comAmerican Talor Gooch recorded a second-round 63 to reach eight-under par and take the 36-hole lead at the LIV Golf Korea tournament on Friday. Gooch made eight birdies and one bogey at the par-70 Asiad Country Club in Busan. He started on the eighth hole and finished with five birdies over his final seven holes.
"I hit a lot of shots close and made a bunch of putts. It was one of those days where everything was clicking," Gooch said.
DeChambeau followed his opening 65 with a 68 to reach seven-under for the event. He recorded three birdies and one bogey while making eight consecutive pars at one stretch.
OKGC team leads the team competition at 14-under, one stroke ahead of DeChambeau's Crushers Golf Club. The winning team receives $3 million to be divided among its four players. South Korean player Mun Do-yeob is the highest-placed local golfer at four-under after consecutive rounds of 68. He is tied for eighth place with Sergio Garcia.
