TechCrunchGoogle is adding a feature that shows users when an advertisement was created or edited using AI technology. The disclosure will appear in the My Ad Center panel. Users reach the panel by clicking the three-dot menu or info icon on ads displayed via Google Search, YouTube, and Google Discover.
When advertisers use Google’s generative AI advertising tools, the disclosure activates automatically. For ads created outside those tools, the advertiser must apply a new control to indicate AI involvement. Google will not verify the information itself.
In some markets the ad may receive an AI label when local law requires it.
