Google announced updates to its Gemini app at its annual I/O event on Tuesday. The changes include a Daily Brief feature, a redesigned interface, and access to a new AI video model called Gemini Omni. Google describes Daily Brief as a personalized digest that pulls information from a user’s inbox, calendar, and tasks.

The feature organizes the data into an overview, prioritizes tasks, and suggests next steps, with the most important items shown first. Daily Brief is rolling out today to Google AI subscribers in the United States.

Google said it rebuilt the app from the ground up.

The new design language, called Neural Expressive, brings fluid animations, vibrant colors, new typography, and haptic feedback. Responses now present key information in bold at the top, with additional text, images, or timelines appearing as users scroll.

The company introduced Gemini Omni, which combines Gemini with Google’s generative media models. Users can upload audio, images, or video to generate consistent, high-quality video output. The model is rolling out to Google Flow and YouTube Shorts for Google AI subscribers.

Google said the Gemini app has more than 900 million monthly users and is available in over 230 countries and in more than 70 languages.
