M. m. PT, with a live stream available on YouTube via the Android channel and on the Android website. The Verge reported that the event is a short, Android-only presentation occurring ahead of Google I/O, which is scheduled one week after May 12, 2026.

Based on last year’s Android Show, which lasted just over 20 minutes, the 2026 edition is expected to be far less time-consuming than the full Google I/O keynote that ran for almost two hours. The 2026 edition of The Android Show I/O Edition is streamed via the Android YouTube channel.

A 15-second teaser video for this year’s show depicted the Android robot shifting from its usual solid green to a translucent, glassy appearance with splashes of color.

” in response to speculation that the visual evoked Apple’s Liquid Glass design. The main focus of Tuesday’s livestream is likely to be the next major Android update, potentially including visual tweaks, new features such as app bubbles and enhanced location controls, and its release window.

Betas and early developer previews of Android 17 have already shown features including one-time location sharing and an indicator for when a non-system app accesses location data.

Updates to Google Gemini are also anticipated, particularly features integrated directly into Android and the broader rollout of a redesign that features a pill-shaped prompt box, streamlined buttons and subtle color splashes in the background. The Verge reported that these visual elements resemble the glassy look of the Android robot in the teaser video.

The Android Show could deliver the first official look at Aluminium OS, Google’s PC-oriented version of Android.

An early glimpse of Aluminium OS was leaked in January in a bug report that included screen recordings showing a user interface blending Android and ChromeOS elements. Court documents from Google’s search antitrust case note that Google hopes to launch Aluminium OS in 2026.

The same documents note that a full launch of Aluminium OS might not happen until 2028, particularly for the enterprise and education sectors.

Last year’s Android Show ended on a teaser for Android XR. Sameer Samat donned a pair of XREAL smart glasses at last year’s Android Show, ahead of further Android XR announcements at Google I/O 2025. It remains possible that similar hardware will appear at this year’s event or be reserved for the main I/O keynote.
