Google plans updates to Health app after user complaints
Google will roll out changes to its Health app starting this week to address complaints from former Fitbit users. The updates include dashboard customization and adjustments to the AI coach feature.
thurrott.comGoogle announced a series of updates to its Health app after receiving complaints from users who preferred the previous Fitbit app. The changes will begin rolling out this week and target several reported issues with the new interface. The company said it will make it easier to customize the Today and Health dashboards so users can rearrange, add, or remove metrics.
Additional features include custom food logging and charts for hourly step goals.
AI coach adjustments Google stated it will revise messages from its AI coach to make them more concise and balanced between positivity and objectivity. The updates will also include more charts and glanceable statistics while reducing commentary on brief activities.
Other fixes scheduled for this week include correcting workout labels that were misidentified as general exercises and adding split times to run summaries. In June, Google plans to allow family account heads to delete child accounts without migrating them.
A new 24-hour sleep overview will display both main sleep periods and naps once implemented.
