Google is updating its search product with several AI-driven features that expand how users interact with results. The changes include an intelligent search bar that supports longer queries and offers AI-powered suggestions. Users will also be able to ask follow-up questions while in AI mode.

Search agents will navigate the web on behalf of users and run continuously in the background. The agents will track changes across the internet and send alerts when new information appears.

Google is also adding agentic coding tools that create mini-apps inside search results. These tools will generate custom dashboards and trackers and convert standard results into interactive pages. The update is described as the largest change to Google Search in 25 years. Fewer traditional blue links are expected to appear as a result of the new features.
