Greece enlisted 72 female volunteers into the Hellenic Army yesterday under a new pilot program. The women, aged 20 to 26, will serve 12 months under the same conditions as male conscripts. The volunteers are the first women accepted into the Hellenic Army through this route.

@MarioNawfal reported that Greece observed women managing Greek bureaucracy and concluded basic training should be manageable. The program places the women on equal footing with male conscripts for the duration of their service. No distinctions in duties or standards were announced for the initial cohort.
